What to do if the SMS messages are not comming in?

Step 1.) Check the SIM card functionality

Take the SIM card out from the phone that is connected to the PC. Put it in a standard GSM handset. Send a message to the SIM. If the message appears on the phone, the SIM card is OK. Put the SIM card back into the phone connected to the PC. If the SMS was not received, visit your GSM service provider and tell them that you cannot receive incoming messages.

Step 2.) Check the Modem functionality

Turn on the GSM modem communication log. The following URL gives informatin about how to turn on this feature: http://www.ozeki.hu/index.php?owpn=631. After the logging has been turned on, you will see the following messages appearing in the log file every second:

Send a message to the phone. If the modem receives the message, you will see an entry like this in your log:

The SMS message is the line printed in red. If you do not see this message it means your modem did not transfer the message to the PC. In this case try to replace the modem.

Step 3.) Check your inbox

The incoming message should appear in the inbox of the admin user.
