What is a jumper wire?
Jumper wires are short wires that are used for prototyping circuits. These are what you will use to connect the various components electrically to your Arduino. Jumper wires are used to transfer electrical signals from one part of the breadboard to the Arduino microcontroller. Jump wires vary in size and color to distinguish what object they are working with. Sensors, buttons, and other such things all use jump wires to communicate with the microcontroller.
Jumper wires
Jumper wires come with male and/or female end connectors. Jumper wires are usually sold in kits. If you purchase a kit, make sure to have different sizes and different colours in the kit.
