Using Ozeki 10 in the Office

For example if you wish to build a smart building you will setup at least two connections in your Ozeki 10: a "light switch" connection and a "lightbulb" connection. When the user switches on the light, the "light switch connection" will send an "on" message to the "light bulb connection". When this "on" message reaches a "lightbulb connection", the light switches on. If a connection understands the text messages, it can react to it. Since this "on" message can come from various sources (task scheduler, motion sensor, light sensor, etc), that building can quickly become much smarter.

Another example could be photo taking. To take a photo with a "USB webcam connection", all you have to do is send a "snapshot" message to it.

This concept of Messages and Connections works very well not only for local networks, but also for a large network of devices distributed all over the world. For example you may setup a network of GPS enabled smartphones runing Ozeki 10, that roam around Europe. Each smartphone can send it's GPS coordinate in a text messages to a central station periodically. In the central station these messages can be forwarded to the "Maps connection", that will display them on a map. A system like this can be created in a few minutes with Ozeki 10. On traditional Operating Systems it would take several weeks or months or even years of development and testing.
