Appendix "A7" - Message types - VCard

VCard is a standard defining the format of an electronic business card. All devices supporting vCard can exchange information such as phone numbers and addresses. For instance a user with a vCard-aware phonebook application on a handheld computer can easily transfer names and phone numbers, address information, logos, photographs and even audio clips to a vCard-aware mobile phone.

Here are examples of standard VCard messages:

To send a VCard message from the user interface you need to open the message composer by clicking on the Compose button. In the message composer, you have to enable the message type option by clicking on the "View message type" menu item in the View menu (Figure1).

Following this you can select the SMS:VCARD type by c licking on the arrow button at the right end of the Type field to scroll down he options and select SMS:VCARD. You can click on the example button next to the Type field to display an example of a VCARD SMS in the Message field (Figure 2).

To send the message, specify the recepient and click on Send.
